In the bustling corridors of entrepreneurship, there are few stories that resonate as powerfully as that of Alex Pham. At the age of 16, he founded Ink Ahead, a custom screen printing company that he would later sell off for multiple six-figures 7 years later.

The journey begins in the humble confines of his parent’s basement where he meshed his youthful creativity with the gritty world of screen printing. What started off as a small-scale operation, quickly ballooned into a formidable enterprise, catering to heavyweight clients such as Red Bull, Amazon, and the City of Quincy.

By age 18, his print shop ran at an impressive half million dollars in revenue.

His knack for understanding market needs and his prowess in adapting to technological advancements propelled the company to the forefront of the industry.

A few years later, the company would achieve an annual run rate of over seven figures.

While a full-time student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Pham commuted 2-hours home every weekend to fulfill orders while also maintaining incredible academics – achieving Dean’s List status.

Upon graduation, Pham commissioned as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army and took a hiatus from Ink Ahead to fulfill service commitments. Once he finished training, he returned to the Massachusetts National Guard and assumed command of a rifle platoon. Simultaneously, Pham decided to reboot Ink Ahead from scratch.

Pham’s return to the industry was nothing short of spectacular. Despite starting anew in January, he quickly scaled operations, generating $10,000 that month. By February, revenues quadrupled to $40,000. From March through June, each month saw earnings exceeding $100,000. Pham’s relentless drive and innovative marketing strategies were back, stronger than ever.

However, life threw a curveball during a pre-deployment training at Fort Polk’s Joint Readiness Training Center. Pham suffered a severe ankle injury that halted not only his physical mobility but also his immediate military and career plans.

Faced with months of recovery and unable to walk, Pham made the difficult decision to begin the process of selling his company.

By August, the company was under agreement. By the end of December, Ink Ahead and its equipment was successfully sold for multiple six figures to a mix of local investors and individual screen printing shops who purchased the excess equipment.
