WASHINGTON DC, April 29, 2025 — The U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce is pleased to invite the business community, particularly Honduran diaspora leaders residing in New Orleans, to participate in the Honduras Convention for Real Estate Investment, Projects, and Business Opportunities New Orleans 2025. The event will take place from July 10-13 at the Chamber’s convention center in New Orleans. The convention is open to the public and requires advance registration.
Honduras: A Land of Untapped Potential
With 15 years of established operations in Honduras, the U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce brings unparalleled expertise and connections to this investment initiative. Honduras represents one of Central America’s most promising investment landscapes, offering diverse opportunities across multiple sectors at competitive price points compared to neighboring countries.
The mission of the event is to showcase Honduras as a unique destination for buying, developing, expanding, and exploiting economic development opportunities through investments in hotels-motels, restaurants, supermarkets, land, farms, housing construction, industrial parks, and more. The convention particularly targets the Honduran diaspora in New Orleans, a city often referred to as the “Catracha Capital” in the United States.
Among the showcase opportunities are beachfront residential complexes and small islands ideal for retirement or tourism investment ventures. Honduras’ 430-mile Caribbean coastline, alongside its Pacific shores, offers pristine beaches and development potential at prices significantly lower than comparable locations in Mexico or Costa Rica.
Strategic Advantages for Investors
The country’s strategic location provides easy access to major U.S. markets, with multiple direct flights from major American cities. Recent infrastructure improvements, particularly in transportation and telecommunications, have enhanced connectivity throughout the country. Additionally, Honduras offers attractive tax incentives for foreign investors, particularly in tourism development zones.
“The U.S. Minority Chamber of Commerce is organizing this gathering due to the immense offerings available to the international market for those looking to diversify their investments. Our entity can serve as a guarantor and project administrator if investors require it,” stated Doug Mayorga, President and Founder of the Chamber.
“While the event is not exclusively dedicated to Hondurans in New Orleans, the activity is being promoted nationally throughout the United States to attract project developers and financiers from the American private sector. The convention will feature special presentations from officials in the Trump administration regarding business and family immigration matters,” added Mayorga, who has established residence in the Central American country.
Networking and Recognition
The convention will serve as an unprecedented networking opportunity, connecting investors with local Honduran developers, government officials, and service providers essential for successful project implementation. Attendees will gain access to exclusive investment opportunities not typically available to the general market.
About the Event:
The three-day activity will feature forums, seminars, exhibitions, and a gala dinner where 16 distinguished Honduran leaders in New Orleans will be recognized.
