Nerose is back with an indie/folk pop track entitled “Where the heart is” which is now out on major streaming platforms. The “Much More” singer revealed that this is his first release in 2023.
Behind the song
“I was noodling on my guitar until I stumbled upon a nice-sounding melody,” he said. “The guitar melody kinda reminded me of Bon Iver and Novo Amor. Like how it sounds so cathartic and dreamy at the same time,” he elaborated.
“But I had a dillemma, what should I talk about lyric-wise that matches the melody?,” he explained. “It was around June of 2023 when I started to create voice recordings on my phone to decipher how the song would be,” he said.
“I would say the chorus was the first one I wrote. I had my “aha” moment there. That set things into motion on how the song would play out,” he explained.
Where is your heart?
“The song talks about how we have this special someone we come running to when things aren’t looking bright,” he quoted. “I made it in such a way that that special someone could be personified as anything. It could be your family, your pet, your friends, the list goes on,” he said.
“Home isn’t always about a place, it’s who you’re with,” he said. “That’s why a line from my song goes like ‘home is where the heart is, then my home should be with you’”, he elaborated.
“Now the question is, who do you consider your home?,” he said.
Closing thoughts on “Where the heart is”
“I hope everyone has someone who they can call home when things go awry. A beacon of hope and light to comfort you and help you get through it,” he remarked. “Let your special someone hear this song as a sign of thanks for staying by your side through your ups and downs,” he said.
