“What happened across those 3 days was indescribable,” says Taylor. “I emerged with a sense of clarity I have never experienced before, and putting into practise what I learnt, I was able to double the business’ client base on my own within only a few weeks.”
Leveling up her personal and professional life, Taylor decided it was time for the business to do the same. “When we first started the company, Outsource Monkey was just a fun name that we came up with after a big brainstorming session,” she says. “Our intention was to help our clients outsource their ‘monkey mind’ by hiring one of our expert VAs, so the name made sense.”
“Then, in recent months I learnt how derogatory the term ‘monkey’ was, particularly overseas. Unfortunately certain people online were perceiving that we were calling our team monkeys, which was certainly not true!” says Taylor. This led to an internal company competition so that Taylor’s entire team could help come up with the new name and logo. “Our COO, Jes, came up with the winning name and logo. There was a lot of thought and meaning behind everything that he included in the design.”
