HOMI TV, INC. Launches a Premium African Film Streaming Service

Middletown, Delaware, 8th September 2022, ZEXPRWIRE, Homi TV, Inc., a company headquartered in the United States with its operational office in Ghana, West Africa has launched one of Africa’s biggest film streaming platform by name Homi on September 3, 2022 at the Alisa Hotels, North Ridge, Accra. The event was hosted by Linda Osifo, one of Nigeria’s top actress and TV Host. The launch of Homi brought together over 200 African filmmakers from Africa, Europe and the US. Speaking at the event, Mr. Fawaz Yunus, Executive Chairman of Homi TV, Inc. stated that the company seeks to expand its operations to Europe by establishing an entity in the Netherlands to help manage the European operations of the company. On his part, Mr. Enock Ofosu Mensah, the Chief Executive of Homi TV, Inc. stressed on the need for African films to tell the true story of Africa in an undiluted way. He also stated that the company is committing $1.2 million to the production of original content from October 2022 to the end of 2025. He urged African film producers with out-of-the-box scripts to take advantage of this significant investment which the industry is currently in need of. Top film producers such as Delphine Jaquet (Banshee Films, France), Leila Djansi (Turning Point Pictures, USA/Ghana), Jigar Ganatra (Film producer of AFRISOS, Tanzania), Alimatu Farakhan Sesay (LEMA’s Diary, Sierra Leone) and Emmanuel Manulu (Magicmix Network, Nigeria) gave testimonies about their successful dealings with Homi TV, Inc as partners. In a video message played at the event, Mr. Bernard Azria, CEO of Cote Ouest Audiovisuel in Ivory Coast and France commended Homi TV, Inc. for such as great feet in launching an African film streaming service which streams films from over 40 countries in Africa and in multiple local languages. 

In an address on ‘’Telling the Right African Story’’, philanthropist and CEO of Green Book Travel, Queen Zosimli Naa who doubles as the Queen Mother of Dakpema in the Northern Region of Ghana urged film producers at the event to focus on captivating stories of Africa that inspire people of African descent living in the diaspora with the goal of helping such people to connect to their roots with pride. 

The unveiling of the film streaming platform was followed by a watch party of the first Homi Original Series which starred renowned actors such as John Dumelo, Adjetey Anang, Salma Mumin, Anthony Woode, Christabel Ekeh, Rabby Bray, Pascaline Edwards and Umar Krupp.
