Emily’s journey of personal growth and transformation began during her Master’s degree in environmental science. During that time she became aware that she was chasing scholarly achievements as a way of gaining approval from family and societal norms and not following her true path. It was during this time that repressed childhood trauma surfaced and she began to heavily explore the mindbody connection.
“By having memories hidden from my conscious awareness, I became really interested in how the unconscious mind works and the relationship between the mind and body, and that opened me up to learning and experiencing so much wisdom we’re not taught in conventional schooling.” With a strong desire to share this with others, Emily was motivated to establish her own coaching practice. “Through my own process of healing from childhood trauma, I realized that a lot of my personality, what I did or didn’t do, were trauma responses and conditioned habits, rather than authentic decisions. It is recommended to do the first thing in the morning and last thing before bed because you are in an alphatheta brainwave state and more suggestible to information. This can be meditation, visualization, breathwork, journaling, movement – whatever works for you. Create something that places your power internally, rather than externally.
