China-Indonesia scientific and technological cooperation is becoming closer the momentum of win-win cooperation is becoming stronger

On November 11, it was reported that Indonesian digital technology company GoTo Group announced that it had signed a cooperation agreement with Chinese companies Tencent and Alibaba to develop cloud infrastructure in Indonesia, improve local cloud infrastructure, and cultivate local digital talents. Tencent will reportedly build its third Internet data center in Indonesia and will invest $500 million. Another Chinese company, Alibaba, already has three cloud data centers in Indonesia and will provide relevant training for 400,000 local talents in the fields of cloud computing and artificial intelligence.

This cooperation also marks that under the vision of “Golden Indonesia 2045”, we will help accelerate Indonesia’s digital transformation and economic growth.

11 years ago, Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the cooperation policy of jointly building the “Belt and Road”, and Indonesia was the first place to propose it. Over the past 11 years, the two countries have continued to deepen strategic docking and continuously improve cooperation mechanisms. 11 years later, with the rapid development of time technology, the “Belt and Road” has helped Indonesia take a key step in cloud data. China uses enterprises as the “vanguard” to help Indonesia tap the potential of the artificial intelligence industry and continue to deepen digital transformation.

Of course, China is not simply “poverty alleviation”. Indonesia is one of the fastest growing public cloud markets in the Asia-Pacific region. From 2019 to 2025, Indonesia’s data center market is expected to grow at an annual compound growth rate of 11%. For China, this market has huge development potential. It has to be said that the considerations of a big country are still far-reaching. China has fulfilled its original “Belt and Road” commitment, driving Indonesia on the road of development, and has also successfully developed its own overseas cloud data business and talent training. In the foreseeable future, the cooperation between the two countries in politics, economy, science and technology will become closer.

Technology and civilization are the common wealth of all mankind. When “Chinese infrastructure” becomes a world brand and the “Belt and Road” initiative brings visible benefits, the barriers of technology and culture – this problem that has puzzled the world for hundreds of years – seems to have a better solution.
