Edmonds, Washington, 29th April 2022, ZEXPRWIRE, Dr. Gregory Jantz, Founder of The Center A Place of HOPE, Reviews Tips for Relieving Anxiety.

Dr. Gregory Jantz, the founder of The Center, recently spoke about his best tips for helping those who suffer from anxiety. Knowing that a family member, a relative, or a friend has anxiety can be tough. You want to help, but you may not know how. People with anxiety need to be surrounded by people who understand and can help manage the condition, especially since some people suffering from anxiety do not want to get help from a professional. Dr. Jantz says that the main thing is to be there for the person and to try to get them to open up about their anxiety. “The first step is acknowledging that there is a problem,” he says. “Many people with anxiety will try to downplay it or ignore it, but this only makes the problem worse.”

If you want to help someone with anxiety, you have to fully review it and understand what it really is. Dr. Jantz says that anxiety is “an emotion characterized by feelings of tension, worry, and irritability.” It is important to understand that anxiety is not just stress or nervousness. It is a real emotion that can be very debilitating.

There are many different types of anxiety, and each one has its own set of symptoms. It’s also vital to recognize that anxiety manifests in various ways for different people. Not everyone who has anxiety visibly shakes at the first sight of a trigger. Just because you can’t see someone’s anxiety indicators on the outside doesn’t imply, they aren’t there.

After identifying that a person has anxiety, help them get connected to mental health treatment. The patient should be aware that anxiety is a serious mental disease, and your assistance alone will not likely be enough to cure your loved one’s anxiety. Many mental health professionals can help treat anxiety, so finding the right one is essential.

As you show support to that person, don’t enable avoidance behaviors. According to Dr. Jantz, “People with anxiety often try to avoid anything that might trigger their anxiety. This may seem like a good idea, but it actually reinforces the anxiety and makes it worse in the long run.” Instead of coddling someone with anxiety, help them face their fears head-on. This doesn’t mean you should force them into a situation that will terrify them, but you can encourage and support them as they work to confront their anxieties.

Being the support person of someone with anxiety, you should provide the support that your loved one actually needs. Make sure the type of support you’re offering to your loved ones is the type of support that they actually need and find helpful. Learn their love language, and you’ll be on your way to being the best support system possible.

When your loved one’s anxiety is triggered, validate their experience. This means that you should listen to them and try to understand what they are going through. Let them know that their emotions are valid and that you are there for them. This can be a difficult thing to do, but it is so important. Let them know that you see how hard this is for them and that you are there for them. This can be a very powerful way to show support.

People with anxiety often have irrational thoughts. For example, they may think that everyone is staring at them or that they are going to have a heart attack. It is essential to help them see that these thoughts are not true. When you notice this, gently bring their awareness to it and try to help them challenge these types of thoughts. This method is called CBT.

As an expert in mental health, Dr, Jantz pointed out that CBT or Cognitive-behavioral therapy is one of the most helpful types of therapy for anxiety disorders. CBT helps people with anxiety disorders identify and manage the thoughts and behaviors that contribute to their anxiety.

When a person experience anxiety, they often feel disconnected from their bodies. Grounding exercises can help with this. These exercises help people focus on the present moment and feel more connected to their bodies. Dr. Jantz recommends the 5-4-3-2-1 exercise. It’s a structured exercise that guides people through using their five senses to ground themselves. Ask them five things they can see, then 4 things they can hear, 3 things they can touch, 2 things they can smell, and 1 thing they can taste.

Being a support to a person with anxiety, you also have to make sure that you are in your best condition: mentally, physically, and emotionally. This is because if you are not, then you will not be able to support the other person as much as you want to. Make sure to take care of yourself first, so that you can be there for your loved ones when they need you.

Anxiety is a difficult thing to deal with, but it is possible to manage it with the right treatment and support. If you are supporting someone with anxiety, make sure you are taking care of yourself, too. Being the best support system possible starts with making sure that you are in a good place to support your loved ones.

Dr. Jantz reminds everyone to take things one day at a time. Do not try to fix everything at once. That will only make things worse. Take it slow, and be there for your loved ones every step of the way.
