How artificial intelligence helps us solve everyday problems

Over the year, more than 20 million people have used the help of assistants, and in the second quarter of 2021, the number of monthly active users was about 6 million. The assistants themselves regularly learn new things and try to better understand the user. This is how the very empathy develops, the absence of which the science fiction writers were so afraid of. Now assistants can maintain a dialogue, joke about bad weather outside the window, or help order groceries. And in honor of their birthday, assistants can tell users facts about themselves: for this you need to congratulate them with the phrase “Fireworks, happy birthday!” 

Users can communicate with assistants using Sber smart devices and SberBank Online and Sber Salyut mobile applications. And the SberPortal Smart Display and SberBox Top TV Media Center allow users to interact with assistants not only with voice or touch, but also with gestures. By the way, the most popular feature over the past year was the ability to like the publication with a raised finger, and assistants responded with more than 1.2 million gestures.

Salute’s assistants are excellent at working with finances. Every day they help users to transfer money to relatives in the SberBank Online mobile application. To do this, you just need to say the phrase: “Salute, translate”, name the addressee and the amount, and then click on confirmation. For especially advanced users with fast internet, this process can take three seconds. Agree, much faster than looking in your phone book for the recipient. This is the opinion of many Sberbank clients, and over the past year, a total of about 9 billion rubles were transferred using this function. More recently, assistants have also learned how to exchange currency, as well as analyze income and expenses and deal with more complex financial transactions. 

But what else is great about assistants is that they are not limited to just knowledge of finance. Assistants have already helped hundreds of thousands of people choose a movie for the evening, as well as disassemble clothes and accessories in the video for subsequent purchase. They also learned to recognize songs playing nearby and share news that might be interesting with users.

It is also important that Athena, Joy and Sberbank help to solve everyday problems. Now they are cooperating with the robot Max, a public services consultant. Therefore, getting advice on how to make an appointment and where to find your vaccination certificate has become much easier. Online shopping for products has also become more accessible – assistants can order any of 815 thousand products in 150 cities of the country. 

Also, the assistant can act as a concierge and book a table for you in a restaurant, make an appointment with a doctor and for cosmetic procedures. Just address the assistant by name and give him the command: “Book a table in the restaurant.” You can even name a specific institution, and the service will be provided. This service is now available in 53 regions, but its geography continues to grow every month. 

Now virtual assistants are an important part of our life, which can really make it a little easier. After all, even the minutes saved on transferring money or searching for some kind of product can later turn into hours of time spent (and this is only a month). We often say that it is important to delegate your tasks to those who can handle it as well. And in the case of Athena, Joy and Sber, this is more relevant than ever.
