“COP29 Human Capital Forum” was held by the Azerbaijan HR Institute under the theme “Green Human Resources for a Sustainable Future” in partnership with UN Global Compact on October 15, 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan for the first time with the participation of the most renowned HR leaders, CEOs, entrepreneurs, business and C-level professionals. COP29 Human Capital Forum aimed to foster collaboration and innovation in the realm of sustainable human capital management.

Emil Huseynov, founder and director of the Azerbaijan HR Institute, as the chair of the Organizing Committee noted that the Forum was based on “areas of modern innovations and competitive human capital” – the third one out of five priorities envisaged in the “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development”, which was approved by the Order (dated 2 February 2021) of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

During the forum, the distinguised moderators and global keynote speakers touched upon the vital role of human resources in achieving sustainability goals, emphasizing the importance of building a sustainable workforce, engaging employees in corporate sustainability initiatives, and adopting innovative HR practices for climate resilience. The outstanding event was ended with the Green HR Awarding Ceremony.

It should also be noted that the Azerbaijan HR Institute successfully organized significant events, including the “Baku International HR Forum” and “Baku International CEO Summit” in 2022, the “Global HR Summit” in 2023 and the “World HR Summit with Dave Ulrich” in 2024.
