Copa América is just around the corner, with a whole host of Concacaf nations getting involved in this year’s South American fun.
The tournament – being hosted in the States – will see 16 teams go head-to-head, with the champion crowned in mid-July.
And to celebrate this year’s battle of the Americas, Flashscore have picked out the key matches from the Copa América group stage.
Mexico vs Jamaica (Group B)
Despite being a Concacaf nation by name, Mexico do boast an impressive record at Copa América, having finished as runners-up twice throughout the years.
Drawn in a group with Venezuela, Ecuador and Jamaica, El Tricolor have a real shot at progressing far once again this time around.
They’ll look to get their group stage off to a flying start when they take on Jamaica – a nation they’re unbeaten against in the last five meetings.
Chile vs Argentina (Group A)
A clash between two of the last three winners, Chile vs Argentina on Matchday Two promises to be one of the best games of the Copa América group stage.
Chile have proved a thorn in the side of Argentina in recent Copa Américas, with La Roja having beaten them in both the 2015 and 2016 finals.
But for the first time since the 1980s, Argentina enter the tournament as world champions, having danced their way to glory in Qatar 18 months ago.
Colombia vs Costa Rica (Group D)
One of several cross-confederation clashes at this year’s Copa América, Colombia vs Costa Rica could hold gigantic ramifications for the outcome of Group D.
Few will look past Brazil to finish top, leaving one qualification spot to the last eight up for grabs.
With outsiders Paraguay the other team in Group D, it’s likely second spot could be decided during Colombia’s match-up against Costa Rica on 28th June.
USA vs Uruguay (Group C)
No must-watch list would be complete without one entry involving the host nation, with the USA’s most enticing fixture coming against Uruguay.
It’s the final game of the group, meaning plenty could be at stake when the pair convene at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium.
And if the hosts want to make a splash, they’ll have to do something they’ve never done before and beat Uruguay in a competitive match.
Brazil vs Colombia (Group D)
And finally, a clash of the titans and probably the standout fixture at this summer’s tournament… Brazil vs Colombia.
Reigning champions Brazil have a point to prove, having been dumped out of the 2022 World Cup by underdogs Croatia.
Winning another Copa América will go some way to remedying that, with Brazil’s toughest fixture in the group stage coming against 2001 winners Colombia.
